The current fee is £55 for the first lesson which covers an initial assessment & an introduction to the Technique & its principles. The initial assessment lasts approximately 1 hour. Subsequent lessons are £45 for a 40-50 minute lesson. A 24 hour cancellation fee applies.

 Special Course of 6 sessions £250 specifically aimed at those with back pain to get you back moving again. This course of  6 lessons will include the following

  • A detailed assessment of your posture, possible causes of any pain or discomfort.
  • Body mapping and functional anatomy or as I call it living anatomy, teaching you the principle joints used in movement so that you can discover greater freedom of movement and can get back to the activities you enjoy doing.
  • Sitting at a computer comfortably
  • Bending - how to bend without wincing
  • Applying the principles to everyday life such as driving, walking or gardening.
  • Using the arms and shoulders properly to avoid pain & improve your posture
  • Breathing.

This is a practical introduction where you will be able to pick up skills that you can utilise straight away in your daily life - applying Mindfulness to everyday situations & activities

                               

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the session we will cover the basic principles of the Alexander Technique & an introduction to the HEAD< NECK<BACK relationship which is important in preventing mis-use of the back. We will also cover basic anatomy, how to bend without strain, sitting at a computer / driving. Walking and climbing stairs. Applying the Technique to your hobbies such as gardening or hill walking. Part of the sessions will also include lying down on the floor in the active rest position which is a great way to release muscular tension in the back & torso, and it helps improve your posture too.
